Tonya Knauth, Class XXXVII
Class Co-Chair
Tonya L. Knauth is an Attorney and Community Servant, and member of Leadership Houston Class XXXVII. She came to Houston over 30 years ago to attend UH Law Center, and over time has put down deep roots to create and serve community in the city that she calls home.
Professionally, Tonya leads a law practice based in the Heights and focused on estate planning, probate and guardianship. She is a member of the Texas Bar College (an attorney honor society) and has served in leadership roles for the Houston Bar Association, Attorneys in Tax and Probate and the Texas Probate Law American Inn of Court.
Tonya has a strong commitment to improving the lives of others, and she serves in as many servant-leader roles as she can find hours in the day. Currently Tonya is focused on her role on the Board of Directors of Leadership Houston and serving as Class Co-Chair for Class XLIII. She has served in leadership roles in community organizations including the League of Women Voters of Houston, Garden Oaks Civic Club, St. Paul’s United Methodist Church Foundation, the Foster Family YMCA, Friends of Montessori, and multiple HISD schools.
A fiercely proud “mama bear,” Tonya is the mother of three young adults and one stepdaughter along with her husband Rick. Leisure time for Tonya is focused on family, reading, travel, and cultural learning experiences (including enjoying all the incredible and diverse restaurants in Houston!).
