Keland Lewis, Class XXXII
Class Chair
Keland Lewis, Senior Corporate Counsel at OCI Global, is a fifteen-year real estate and commercial transactions attorney. Prior to joining OCI, Keland served as Interim Vice President and General Counsel at the Houston Housing Authority, where he led efforts to address the affordable housing crisis. Keland has spent his career utilizing his legal background to effectuate positive change.
Holding service to others as a core value, Keland values community and seeks opportunities to give both time and resources. Keland has served as a member of the executive board for the Houston Area Urban League Young Professionals, was a volunteer board member for the West Orem Family-YMCA, where he chaired the community service committee, and has served as a mentor as part of Big Brothers Big Sisters. Additionally, Keland is Life Member of Texas Exes and is a member of Wheeler Avenue Baptist church, where he has served as member of the Legal Ministry and the Courtesy Corp. Keland is a graduate of Leadership Houston Class XXXII (Best Class EVER) and has been a volunteer on the class selection committee for the Leadership Houston.
Raised in the small town of Italy, Texas, Keland is an alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin, holds a Juris Doctorate from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University, and a LL.M. in Energy, Environment and Natural Resources from the University of Houston Law Center. He resides in Houston’s Historic Third Ward with his wife, Alexis and their daughter, Kai. Keland enjoys college football, live music, and good food with better company.
