Kendrick McCleskey, Class XXXI

Kendrick McCleskey is the IT Services Portfolio Manager for NRG Energy, responsible for aligning and delivering IT services for the non-commodity services delivered by several NRG companies. Additionally, Kendrick is the owner of One Great Lawn which delivers lawn maintenance services for commercial entities. Originally One Great Lawn’s business was 99% residential and 1% commercial. Within 5 years of ownership of the business and during a worldwide pandemic, McCleskey has changed the customer business into a 100% commercial business while seeing a significant increase in revenues and keeping expenses in-line.

Kendrick spends a great deal of his time in the community where he serves on the Gulf Coast Workforce Development Board, Leadership Houston Board, and Suits for Sons Board. Kendrick was a past Leadership Houston: Class Chair for the Signature Leadership Program, Vice President of Programs, and Secretary.

Kendrick was raised in Houston and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Houston-Bauer School of Business with a concentration in Finance. He continued his education at the University of Houston-Clear Lake where he obtained a degree in Management Information Systems. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Technology Management.

Kendrick has personal interests that include: active membership in his church, coaching youth sports, involvement in health fitness, enjoying time with family and friends, and volunteering in a variety of local organizations.
